The little kitten is extremely cute and charming during its life, often making cat owners unable to resist its cuteness. Before the little kitten officially enters the house, cat owners will prepare various pet supplies in advance. However, some cat owners have reported that their little kittens have experienced diarrhea in the new environment. So, what exactly is going on?
I. A formal purchase or adoption channel is crucial
We often encourage adopting pets instead of buying them, but it is necessary to do so through formal channels. If it is a regular pet store or an adoption agency, they will generally conduct a thorough examination of the cat in advance to ensure its health. On the contrary, the cat owner may end up with a "week-old cat", that is, a cat that is already suffering from a disease and has a short lifespan. Many cat owners have carefully prepared pet supplies such as cat beds, and they surely don't want to get a sick cat. Therefore, remember to choose a formal and legal channel to adopt a cat.
II. Choose suitable food and supplies
Food such as milk, cakes, raw meat, and spoiled cat food are all within the scope of what cats should avoid. They are very likely to cause diarrhea in cats. When choosing cat food and other supplies, it's not that the more expensive they are, the better. Instead, they should be suitable. Especially when purchasing pet supplies such as pet combs and climbing frames later, the pet supplies should truly meet the cat's physical condition and exercise habits to be appropriate. Of course, in addition to choosing fresh and appropriate food, it is also necessary to cultivate good eating and living habits for the cat in daily life to avoid situations such as diarrhea due to indigestion from overeating. If there is no improvement, remember to seek medical attention in a timely manner.
III. The change of the environment should be gradual
Some little kittens will have deworming and vaccinations done before entering the house, but they are still prone to have stress reactions when they first arrive at their new homes. In a strange environment with unfamiliar supplies, little kittens are likely to feel scared and nervous. When the cat owner officially keeps the little kitten at home, a buffer period of one or two days can be set aside to gradually move its living place and change the pet supplies it uses.
IV. Diseases such as enteritis and colds need to be observed in a timely manner
In addition to external factors such as pet supplies, the environment, and food, it is also very important to check if the cat itself has enteritis. Moreover, try not to let the little kitten sleep directly on the floor, as it is easy to catch a cold.
The resistance of little kittens is much lower than that of adult cats. Therefore, if there are adverse reactions such as diarrhea, it is recommended to send the kitten directly to a pet hospital for a thorough examination to prevent the situation from deteriorating.
