There are always times when a dog feels lonely. At such moments, the dog owner may be too busy with work to take the dog out using a leash, or may be too tired to play with it. However, a dog that has to wait for a long time will inevitably feel lonely.
Behavior 1: Sleeping is a good way to relieve loneliness
Dogs that haven't received attention for a long time and whose owners haven't taken them out to play with a leash will use sleep to numb themselves and pass the long hours. When some dogs are sleeping, if the owner wants to take them out with a leash, the disturbed dog may even show resistant behavior. Once this situation occurs, it proves that the dog's psychological state is already very poor. At this time, it won't be very effective for the owner to take the dog out to play with a leash or soothe it with a pet comb. It is recommended to let a professional veterinarian conduct counseling, and the owner should accompany the dog closely.
Behavior 2: Frequently making whining sounds to attract attention
Compared with the loud barks that dogs make towards their companions when being taken out on a leash, the whining sounds are often ignored by the owners. When you are too busy with work to take the dog out to play with a leash or comb its fur with a pet comb, the dog will make whining sounds to catch your attention, hoping that you can spend some time with it. Many clever dogs will even actively place items like leashes beside the owner to remind him.
Behavior 3: Chewing things randomly to vent anxiety
Separation anxiety disorder is a disease that a dog may develop after a long period of loneliness, and a common phenomenon is chewing things randomly. Whether it's a leash, a pet comb, or a toy, it may be chewed up by the dog in a mess.
Behavior 4: The corner becomes the remaining haven
Dogs are pets that long for attention. Those that lack companionship will lie in a corner by themselves and are unwilling to communicate with the outside world. If this continues, it will have a great impact on the dog's physical and mental health. Even if the dog is taken out occasionally with a leash, it will become withdrawn and not want to communicate with other pets.
How can we prevent the development and intensification of a dog's feelings of loneliness? The answer lies in the owner's companionship and love! Dog owners can take their dogs out for a walk with a leash every morning, allowing them to feel the sunshine and fresh air, and regularly comb their fur with a pet comb. They can also use a leash to take the dog to places where other dogs gather. If the owner has to go out for something, he can leave behind puzzle toys that dispense food and other items to keep the dog company. Or, when purchasing pet supplies such as leashes in daily life, the owner can take the dog along and let it choose the leash it likes. With sufficient companionship and love, our little cuties can always stay healthy and full of vitality!
